Her music deals with universal themes, seen through the eyes of a distinctive personal character. Ms. Seidel works in a broad range of musical styles from jazz/art song to classical music. As a regular performer with the San Francisco ensemble Adesso she has sung modern chamber music and works by living composers including John Harbison's "Mirabai Songs" and music by Bob Becker. Her most recent performances and recordings of the works of pianist/composer Denny Berthiaume include his song cycles from the poetry of ee cummings and Pablo Neruda. This collection of songs, entitled IF YOU AND I AWAKENING, was released on CD by Open Path Music in December 2007. She appears on several recordings of original music by the sextet Departure—12 SONGS, THE OPEN PATH, and THROUGH THE TREES-- on the same label.
